The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 62.581 points or 2.38 percent last week to close at 2,628.35. A total of 34,858 shares worth $1,065,924 were traded.

The Bank of Bermuda ended the week at $44.45, gaining $1.45 or 3.37 percent on volume of 17,895. The Bank of Butterfield gained 50 cents or 1.59 percent to end the week at $32 on volume of 5,592.

Bermuda Commercial Bank (BCB) fell 25 cents or 3.57 percent to end the week at $6.75 on volume of 400, and BCB warrants fell 25 cents or 25 percent to close at 75 cents on volume of 5,000.

In the insurance sector, BF&M Ltd. gained $1 or 12.12 percent to close at $9.25 on volume of 3,700.

In the utilities sector, Belco Holdings Ltd. gained 75 cents or 2.65 percent to close at $29 on volume of 1,400.
