BSX rises 19 points

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index yesterday rose by 19 points after four stocks gained during the day on a busy day of trading.

Watlington Waterworks shares rose 21 percent and sold the highest volume, 11,000 shares. It rose 65 cents to finish at $3.75, a new 52 week high.

Also high volume trades were seen in Bank of Bermuda, which traded 9,704, but closed unchanged at $44.50. Bank of Butterfield gained 50 cents to finish at $33.50 after trading 8,400 shares during the day.

Argus Insurance also gained 40 cents to close at $20.50 and Belco Holdings gained $1.05 to finish at $30.05.

The index gained 0.74 percent to finish at 2,679.82 on a volume of 30,991 shares worth $800,181.55.
