Bank of Bermuda shares gained $1 yesterday to finish at $47 on a quiet day of trading on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.

Just 1,500 shares changed hands - 500 Bank of Bermuda and 1,000 Bank of Butterfield. Bank of Butterfield closed unchanged at $33.75.

The index rose 31.38 points or 1.14 percent to close at 2,794.78 points with just $57,300 worth of shares changing hands.

On the NASDAQ exchange, the Bank of Bermuda closed up 85 cents at 47.85 on volume of 53,000 shares.
