The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 31.88 points or 1.24 percent yesterday to close at 2,600.47. A total of 15,400 shares were sold.

While no shares of the Bank of Bermuda were traded, The Bank of Butterfield gained $1.50 or 4.9 percent to close at $32 on volume of 15,000 shares.

The only other stock to trade for the day was Argus Insurance Company which fell 25 cents or 1 percent to close at $23.75 on volume of 400 shares.
