The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 34.84 points yesterday to close at 4,483.87.

On an active day of trading Belco led the advances, gaining $1.25 to close at $40 as investors traded in 100 shares.

Bermuda Press Holdings rose $1 to close at $14.25 on volume of 5,000 shares and Bermuda Commercial Bank rose 70 cents to close at $8.95 on volume of 1,535 shares.

Bermuda Aviation Services gained 50 cents to close at $6.75 as 150 shares changed hands and KeyTech also moved up 50 cents to close at $13.50 on volume of 2,000 shares.

Meanwhile Butterfield Bank traded in 1,535 shares to close unchanged at $57.50 and Argus traded in 3,200 shares to close unchanged at $14.15.

The total value of the shares bought and sold on the BSX yesterday was $239,040.00 and the overall volume of shares was 12,285 shares.
