CedarBridge's seniors to re-present student fashion show
The CedarBridge Academy's (CBA) S4 student's fashion show was such a hit – that they are doing it again.
The students' fashion show, held last Saturday, was standing room only and the administrators had to turn people away.
To satisfy those that couldn't make it and those who couldn't get enough, the students and the organiser have decided to run the fashion show again this Friday at 7.30 p.m.
"The fashion show had such high energy for the entire show. I am so proud of these students because they are doing something extremely positive and for a good cause," said Tracey Trott, CBA teacher and fashion show organiser.
She added: "There are always negative things said when it comes to CBA and I want the public to know that this is something very positive that the students put together on their own and I must reiterate that I am extremely proud of them."
This fashion show was held to raise money for the Class of 2008's prom in June.
"We have 30-plus models taking part in the fashion show and there will also be singing and dancing," Evolution Fashion Show organiser Sherelle Simons said. "The participants were students from the CBA class of 2008.
"The models will be modelling clothes from their own wardrobes."
Miss Simons said the graduation class' organising committee came up with the plan and were inspired by the stylishness of their peers.
"Many of their fellow classmates are into fashion," she said. "The S4s held a meeting and we agreed that it will be an excellent fundraising event.
"Then we formed a fashion show committee, which consisted of five students: Latonae Smith, Sherae Simons, Victoria Camara, Jorde Smith and myself.
"The committee has been working extremely hard to make this event a success. The participants have been very supportive and committed to the event.
"The name 'Evolution' was chosen as the name of the show because we felt that we are evolving from young minds to powerful minds."
Miss Simons said the whole CedarBridge community is pitching in with school staff and parents getting involved as well.
"The CBA faculty has been very supportive and helpful," she said. "A special thanks goes to Ms Tracey Trott, Ms Donna Edwards, Mr. Stuart Crockwell and Mr. Dean Foggo for their encouragement, dedication and time."
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door and can be purchased at Jazzy's Boutique, Washington Mall, CedarBridge Academy main office and from participants.
