TABLE TENNIS PP Hamilton Parish I earned the right to defend their Challenge Cup title in the final when they beat their second team 6-0 on Thursday night.

Cal Burgess and Derron Trott both were extended to three games by Kacy King but ended up victorious. They had two wins while Cory Berkeley had one and teamed with Trott for a doubles win. Parish II were missing leading player Roderick Masters who was on regiment duty.

Parish's opponents in the final will be determined on Tuesday after league leaders Eastern Stars and BAA had their match abandoned.

Craig Trott and Dave Waltham were level at one game apiece in the opening match when a power outage halted play. Power was not restored to the club in the next 45 minutes and the teams agreed to meet at Elliott Primary School on Tuesday (7.30 p.m.) with the final to be rescheduled for a later date.

BAA caught a break with the happening as Bermuda number one Nick Frost was unavailable on Thursday but should be back in action for the second meeting.

Teams who have matches outstanding are free to make them up on Tuesday.

The Masters Open will be played on February 27 at Elliott Primary School. The entry deadline is Wednesday, February 24.

VOLLEYBALL VOL The Bermuda Volleyball Association's winter season ended with Busycomm performing the double among the women as they won both the League and Tournament trophies.

During the latter, Busycomm's road was less than easy with challenging early-round matches against last year's league champions, Skylarks and another with Butterfield Travel.

In the final they again met up with Skylarks. The match was tense, but Skylarks had no answer to their opponents' heavy hitters Elisa Stubbs and Cindy Hamilton, who led their side to a straight sets win.

Meanwhile, Flying Chefs took top honours in the men's league, but were on the wrong side of a game against Arthur Andersen in the tournament final, which went to three sets.

League Most Valuable Players were Lisa Dragon of Busycomm and Gray and Kempe's Mark Monaghan.

The Summer League will begin on April 15.
