Bermudian music students were honoured yesterday for taking part in an international music programme at the KOSA Academy of Music in Montreal, Canada.

The ten students, aged six to 18, joined by Professor Eddie Ming of the Eddie Ming Rhythm Labs, received state of the art music instruction in drumming, guitar and piano alongside Canadian students. In a statement yesterday, Minister of Youth, families, Sport and Community Development Glenn Blakeney congratulated the students for their work.

"You have been excellent role models and I am sure that this enriching, cultural exposure has demonstrated for each of you that music is indeed a universal language that allows us to act harmoniously with each other," the Minister said.

"I am pleased that you have gained a better appreciation for music, and I am sure that this enriching experience will serve you well as you continue to develop your musical talents."
