Video games deliver the entertainment factor for dads

(MS) — This month thousands of dads will eagerly anticipate that day that honors them for their devotion to family. It's also time to find gifts that suit Dad, gifts that do not fall short in the fun factor department. Does Dad really want another tweed blazer or silk tie this Father's Day? The hottest new video games from Activision are sure to please as unique and fun-filled gifts for dads in your life:

Guitar Hero: Dads who are ready to unleash their inner rock stars can jam to monster rock hits with Guitar Hero Smash Hits. As the music video game phenomena continues to sweep the world, dads can play alone or join together with friends and family as a full band as they rock out the 48 master recordings available from Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.

Players can tour a selection of eight new venues from around the world as they rip up any of the greatest hits, including classics from Twisted Sister, Poison, Queen, Alice in Chains, Rage Against The Machine, Heart, and The Police. For the first time ever, rockers both young and old can strum, drum and belt out some of their favorite Guitar Hero tunes on all major gaming consoles as they jam along to updated note tracks for guitar and bass and all-new gameplay for the drum controller and microphone.

Battle of the Ages: With fans spanning all ages, the legendary Transformers series brings together both enthusiasts of the original 1980's animated series and followers of the recent Michael Bay films. This summer, the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen video game, based on the upcoming blockbuster film from Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures, takes players on an action-packed journey across the globe. Dads can play the game as AUTOBOTS or DECEPTICONS and select their favorite character from the largest roster of TRANSFORMERS ever assembled in a video game. New, ultra-fluid transformations can be performed anytime, anywhere, and for the first time ever, the game features full online multiplayer modes that allow fathers and sons to rekindle their familial bond over colossal, action-packed robot battles with players from around the world. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is available for all gaming systems.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine: inspired by the comic books and recent release of the movie. X-Men's fiercest hero gives players a true-to-character experience with action packed missions set in real-world locales. Players explore more than 100 custom moves, reflex quick-kills, and long-range lunge attacks, and go beyond mere minions to battle the biggest, most intimidating bosses Wolverine has ever faced. Interesting insights to Wolverine's origins from Logan to the mutant weapon he became are also revealed. The game is available for all major console and hand held video game systems.
