doors on St. John's Road almost 26 years ago, and to this day she "helps when needed''.

Her husband, the late Mr. William James Hassell, already had a thriving contracting firm when he opened the company in 1966.

Home Paints Supplies was established to furnish his contracting customers with top-quality paint for every portion of their homes -- from the roof to the floors. Judging by its longevity, it has continued that tradition.

Mr. Hassell ran both companies successfully, with Mrs. Hassell " helping out'' when an extra pair of hands were necessary.

After her husband's death in 1978, Mrs. Hassell passed Home Paint Supplies to her daughter Mrs. Joan Lohan, and sold the contracting company.

Mrs. Lohan, now president and general manger, has worked at the firm since it started.

Home Paint Supplies has expanded its product line to include car paint.

The company also boasts "computer colour matching'' with over 34,000 customer colour formulae on its data base.

Other family members employed at Home Paint Supplies are Mrs. Hassell's brother-in-law, Mr. Geoffrey Wilson and her grandson, Mr. Kevin Lohan.
