Struggling Sims misses the cut

Michael Sims endured a horrific start to his 2005 season, crashing out of the Costa Rica Open yesterday.

After two rounds of the South American Tour event, the Bermudian ? in his fourth year as a pro golfer ? had carded an abysmal 13-over par at the Cariari Country Club.

Shooting five-over 76 in Thursday?s first roound, he would have been desperate to do better yesterday but it was not to be as he entered the clubhouse with an eight-over 79.

The 26-year-old, who finished way down the order, was never in contention for the cut in the $125,000 tournament and now moves on to next week?s Panama Masters.
