Man faces proceeds of crime charge for trying to leave Island with $50,000

A Southampton man has been charged with having possession of more than $50,000 cash knowing the money represented the proceeds of criminal conduct.
Ricardo Walker, 44, of Eastdale Lane, was not required to enter a plea in Magistrates’ Court to the indictable charge and could be tried in the Supreme Court.
Prosecutor Cindy Clarke told the court $51,206 was seized by Customs Officers on October 21 last year as Mr Walker was leaving the Island.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released Mr Walker on $10,000 bail with one surety.
He will reappear for mention on February 25.
