Madeiros a global finalist in Coldwell Banker awards

Bermuda Realty's Brian Madeiros

President of Bermuda Realty Company, Brian Madeiros, has been named as a finalist for an international real estate award over thousands of others around the world. The Chandler Barton Spirit Award, given by Bermuda Realty’s affiliate group, Coldwell Banker, the oldest real estate franchise system in North America, is presented annually to an individual who exhibits professionalism, tenacity, positive attitude, honesty and integrity, dedication to their business and overall success and a strong market presence and continued strategic growth.Mr Madeiros is one of three global finalists.“In the context of the Coldwell Banker global network, it was indeed a surprise considering there are over 3,000 offices around the globe,” said Mr Madeiros. “To be selected from such an extensive network of real estate practitioners is impressive whilst very humbling. I can unequivocally say that my entire team has a role to play; this is very much a collective recognition from my perspective.”Affiliated with Coldwell Banker since 1998, Mr Madeiros has lead the local real estate company through many stages of change and growth. Bermuda Realty is now the largest realty firm in Bermuda, employing 46 people.Mr Madeiros believes the recognition is a reflection of the company’s continued efforts to modernise the real estate industry in Bermuda.“Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty was one of the first international offices of the global network and we have worked hard to consistently introduce new innovative services and technology to the marketplace through both our Professional Services team and Agency related services,” he said. “Our business model has certainly created tangible synergy between the component parts and has proved to be so successful; our competitors have duplicated our best practices and in some instances, our business model.”As a small market like Bermuda, says Mr Madeiros, hustle is the name of the game.“We operate in a very competitive, creative and innovative industry and unless you are continuously innovating to meet and ultimately exceed your client and customer demands, you will never become a market leader nor attract the best real estate professionals in the industry from a recruitment and retention perspective,” he said.Asked to name his secret to success, Mr Madeiros said: “I am a great believer that nothing of significance in life can be achieved without hard work and persistence. Being the best at what you do, working harder than your competition and understanding the responsibility we all have as members of our community has created a very solid base from which to grow personally and professionally.”The award will given out in March 2012 at the Coldwell Banker Gen Blue conference in New Orleans.
