Miss Pogson, founder of Black Box Performance Workshops, said the stage reflected life.

And The Nationalist magazine was an example of current thinking of today'syouth.

"It is study material,'' she explained.

Miss Pogson said The Nationalist would be "an integral part'' of a play she is writing with young people attending her workshops.

The play -- or road show -- would be performed around the Island on July 1, 7, 14 and 21, she added.

Entitled "Youth Uprising'', it will feature people aged nine to 19.

Parents of at least two youngsters have now pulled out of the planned production.

They have criticised the distribution of the black magazine, which has been the subject of a Police investigation.

"I was furious when I found out,'' one woman told The Royal Gazette last night.

"My son does not need to learn about racial hatred through drama.'' She added: "This to me is almost teaching him to be racial. It's a form of apartheid. That was why I pulled him out.'' The woman said Miss Pogson ran a Government-sponsored drama programme, which made the distribution of magazines all the more shocking.

Miss Pogson, however, said the stage had to be true to life.

"The magazine gives an understanding of the way some young people are thinking.'' Miss Pogson added she had invited parents to attend a meeting tomorrow night at her Court Street workshops.

This would give them a chance to voice any concerns.
