Bermuda's best medal prospects in the 16-member Bermuda team for the upcoming CISC Age Group Championships in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Gosling girls will compete in the 15-17 age group, Jenny in the 100 and 200 metres breaststroke, 100 butterfly, and 200 and 400 individual medley (IM) and Tiffany in the 100 and 200 metres backstroke and 200 IM.

Fahy will swim in the 13-14 boys 50, 100, 200 and 400 metres freestyle, 100 butterfly and 200 IM while Massey (11-12 age group) will compete in the 50 and 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly.

"Based on past performances, I expect both Jenny and Tiffany to make the finals in their events,'' coach Richard Goodman said yesterday. "They are the veterans on the tour. Stephen Fahy also has a good chance at making the finals in his events and is a possible medal contender. William Massey is a possible medal contender in the 50 freestyle.'' For the first time in several years, Bermuda will not be sending swimmers in the 9-10 year age group. "It's very tough in the younger age groups, mostly because of the numbers,'' explained Goodman.

Lauren Perinchief is the only competitor in the girls 13-14 age group while the boys 13-14 has three swimmers. There are four each in the boys and girls 15-17 and boys 11-12.

The team leaves Bermuda on Monday and will train in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, until next Thursday before flying down to Trinidad in time for the opening ceremonies next Friday. The meet takes place from July 11-14 and the team returns on July 16.
