In the A clash, Canaries held the upper hand throughout the first half, taking a 2-0 lead into the interval with goals from Emma Garon and Rhonda Rawlins.

Cardinals fought back after the break but a second goal from Garon saw Canaries run out comfortable 3-0 winners.

In the B division, Canaries earned a 2-1 victory, having taken the lead after just five minutes through Ali Cameron.

Cardinals' Caroline Tytheridge put her side back on even terms just before half-time, but Canaries again stepped up the pressure after the interval with Georgi Barbosa firing home the winner.

In other weekend games at Nationals, Orioles edged Swifts 3-2 in the A division while the two B division sides shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Swifts got off to a fast start in the A match, scoring in the first minute through Leigh Shaw before the full Orioles team were even on the pitch. But Orioles quickly equalised through Georgie Adlam and then went ahead shortly after half-time thanks to a goal from Gail Thorne.

Swifts got back on level terms with a penalty flick goal from Danielle Skinner but in an exciting finale Thorne clinched victory for Orioles with a late strike.

Orioles B took a first half lead through Susan Elton following a well taken short corner but Swifts' defence held firm for the rest of the match with an equaliser from Michelle Outerbridge securing their first point of the season.
