A Warwick man misjudged a bend in the road at the junction of Church and King Streets and ended up inside the Hamilton Fire Station Headquarters.

His silver Hyundai crashed through one of the large garage doors and collided with a fire vehicle at around 3.10 a.m. on Saturday morning.

The fire vehicle was unoccupied at the time and received front end and right side damage. The Hyundai was more seriously wrecked in the accident.

The 22-year-old driver was taken to hospital for treatment of a broken jaw.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

At another burglary on a Railway Trail in Devonshire, a thief made off with a seven-inch portable DVD player, a digital camera and jewellery.

Both burglaries are believed to have taken place sometime Friday.
