Radio host declares allegiance to the PLP
The Progressive Labour Party's Drum Major Awards, designed to recognise long-standing service in the community, provided a bit of a surprise Saturday when the party's youth wing briefly grabbed centre stage.
The event's Master of Ceremonies, radio show host Thaao Dill, seemed to go off-script when he announced his own allegiance to the Progressive Labour Party.
The 24-year-old addressed his comments to the Premier who was sitting in the audience.
"I would like to, because of the results of your actions and what you've been doing over the past few months and years, I'd like to join and become a member of the Progressive Labour Party," he said.
The Thaao Dill Morning Show (Hott 107.5 FM) is said to be extremely popular with a younger demographic.
He often has members of the Government appear on his show.
Mr. Dill, who described himself as previously disenfranchised by the local political process, cited the appointment of 25-year-old Davida Morris to the Senate and the newfound energy within the party as reasons for his announcement.
