Tamicka Johnson is a 21-year-old student who recently finished her first year at Wyke College in Yorkshire, England studying Performance Art.

When she returned to Bermuda this summer, she had difficulty finding a job -- so she decided to raise tuition money herself by producing a variety show.

The show entitled "Gone in a Style: A Celebration of Performing Arts'' will be playing at Centennial Hall on tonight at 7.30 p.m.

And special guest artists -- including Wendell "Shine'' Hayward and Ronald Lightbourne -- are involved with the production in an effort to assist local up-and-coming artists.

Ms Johnson will be displaying her talents in dance choreography, poetry, singing, and dramatic monologue.

She also takes partial credit -- along with co-choreographer Tanaya Richardson -- for choreographing the dances for a group of younger students between the ages of 12 and 19 who will also be performing.

"I got my first exposure on stage when I was about 15-years-old, and I thought it was about time to bring some of the younger performers into the limelight as well,'' said Ms Johnson.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for children under 12 and $30 for patrons.

MAN ARRESTED CRM Man arrested Police arrested a 27-year-old Pembroke man after a dispute outside a Front Street nightclub left a victim nursing a bloody nose and cut lip.

The victim, 26, told Police he was sitting in his car after leaving the club with friends when a man began bothering a female member of their party.

He said the brawl began after the suspect began arguing with the woman, apparently telling her to go with him.

Officers said the culprit also started breaking one of the car's wing mirrors.

The car's driver said he was punched in the mouth and nose and the men began to fight.

A workman suffered minor head injuries when he fell 15 feet on Wednesday after the wall he was standing on gave way.

The fall happened shortly before 5 p.m. as the 35-year-old Pembroke man was standing on the wall on St. Johns' Road in Pembroke attempting to lower a ladder to another worker.

Pieces of concrete block also fell, striking the man on his head.

He was unable to walk and was taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital were he was X-rayed and subsequently released. Police are investigating.
