Merchant Marine ship Texas Clipper pays visit
island on Tuesday morning for Savannah, Georgia, after it collected general supplies.
The 393-foot-long ship arrived on June 28 from San Juan Puerto Rico.
Meyer Agencies reported that the Bermuda Islander sailed into local waters on July 1 from Salem, New Jersey and left at noon on Tuesday.
The ship bought 105 containers 11 of which were refrigerated. There were also two 40-foot containers of building materials on board.
Also in port a spokesperson from Meyer agencies reported, was the cruise ship the Zenith which arrived out of New York on Monday morning.
The Zenith which was carrying 1594 passengers, shifted from Hamilton to Pennos Wharf in St. Georges on Wednesday and will sail from Pennos Wharf today.
Meanwhile the MV Somers Isles arrived from Jacksonville, Florida on Monday morning with 97 containers, two trucks, three boats and structural steel. The vessel sails back to Florida today.
The cruise ship MV Dreamward came into Pennos Wharf with 1442 passengers on Monday morning and sailed up to Hamilton on Tuesday morning and leaves the lsland this afternoon.
The Meridian arrived out of New York on Tuesday with 1301 passengers and will sail tomorrow.
Container Ship Management reported that the Oleander sailed from Port Elizabeth, New Jersey, on Sunday with 146 dry containers, 31 refrigerated containers, four cars, one truck and a turbine engine.
The vessel left on Tuesday and took back the animals from the Garden Brothers circus.
Harnett and Richardson reported that the paper ship the MV Abitibi Orinoco arrived in Bermuda yesterday from Botwood, Canada.
The 123 metre vessel leaves today and dropped off 1,025 rolls of newsprint for The Royal Gazette and Island Press.
John S. Darrell reported that the cruise ship the Song of America arrived with 1,482 passengers on Tuesday out of New York. The ship will leave on Friday.
The Royal Majesty also arrived on Tuesday with 1,247 passengers and heads back to Boston on Friday.
A car ship, the 622 foot Morning Princess , left the Bahamas on Tuesday with 78 cars. The ship left for Nassau yesterday morning.
TRAINING VESSEL -- The Texas Clipper II left Bermuda on Tuesday morning for Savannah, Georgia. The American Merchant Marine ship arrived on the Island from San Juan, Puerto Rico on June 28 to collect general supplies.
