Mackerel, three points behind the leaders, were led by a second high series of 540 and top game of 235 by Ruth Thomas as they beat Tuna 4-0. Brenda Burrows added valuable support with ladies third high series of 508.

Clifford Maxwell claimed men's second high series with 552 while Steven Harvey was close behind with 545.

Snappers also claimed a 4-0 win, disposing of Marlins, who came within 19 pins of winning a point as Sharon Mallory bowled a 502 series and ladies third high game of 199.

Angel Fish downed Piranhas 3-1 as David Gazzard rolled a 201 game. Donna Amaral bowled ladies top series of 583 and second high game of 223 for the Piranhas while Reggie Horseman bowled a 539 series and 212 second high game.

Wahoo also came up with a 4-0 win over Dolphins on the strength of a 665 series and 233 and 244 games by Doug Hines.

Completing the night's competition, Barracuda and Goldfish shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw with Carlos Estravit of Goldfish rolling a 542 series and third high game of 211, and Rockfish and Hinds also tied 2-2.

The second annual Dorchester Realty Nine Pin-No Tap handicap doubles tournament will start on Sunday, October 6 and run for six weeks. Each team will have to bowl at least four of the six weeks to qualify for the play-offs.

A `Bakers Team Challenge' has been arranged for November with teams made up of either all women or all men. Teams are asked to sign up at Warwick Lanes. The tournament will be played at scratch if sufficient men's and women's teams enter.
