Police yesterday reported that male visitor lost control of his livery cycle and rode it through a glass window of a business in Pembroke.

The single-vehicle accident occurred on Gorham Road, Pembroke on Wednesday when the visiting rider tried to make a "U'' turn.

He accelerated, lost control and went into a plate glass window of Adventure Travel, Police spokesperson Evelyn James Barnett said.

The rider, who had only rented the cycle moments before the accident suffered minor cuts to his left hand.

On the same day, a cruise ship passenger fell off her bike and received cuts and abrasions to her chin and legs while sightseeing in Sandys Parish.

The accident occurred when the Meridian passenger panicked as a large truck approached her on Scaur Hill in Sandys, near the junction of Lantana guest property. She fell off her rental cycle.

The female rider was treated by the Meridian ship doctor.

And a New Jersey visitor required treatment at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for stitches he received after crashing his livery cycle.

Mrs. James Barnett said the accident occurred yesterday in St. George's on Duke of York Street.

The visitor pulled away from the curb outside Pasta Pasta, lost control of the rented bike and rode into the front display window of Betty's Needle Craft, breaking four window panes.
