The New York trip was a mind-riveting experience that lasted five days, this past February.

I, along with my GCSE Acting class, and dance and music students from all year levels, went on the New York Drama trip.

We attended a number of Broadway shows, such as 'Wicked', 'The Lion King', 'Phantom of the Opera', and 'Rigoletto'.

Wicked was about a teenage girl who was a green witch who was always discriminated against because of it.

She thought she was cursed and also she was in love with a teenage boy.

The love that they had was unwanted by many. I really liked 'Wicked' because of the emotion of it all.

My eyes were just glued to the stage while the actors were performing. All of the shows were entertaining and they all appealed to my eye.

The good thing was that before we saw any of the shows we were honoured with the chance to meet each of the actors from each of the plays and get a little synopsis of their work and of the show.

We met Denis Johnston who was in 'The Lion King' and others from 'Wicked' and 'Phantom of the Opera'.

We even attempted to do some of the moves from 'The Lion King'. We got a tour of three of New York's top theatres and they were enormous.

We went to a restaurant that served you not only wonderful food but a nice variety of music performed by the waiters and waitresses.

This restaurant was overflowing with so much talent. We just had a great time in New York. We also went ice-skating, which was totally out of my element, but surprisingly I was good at it!

The New York trip was amazing, and I gained so much out of it. I have developed more respect for drama and it has changed the way I think about things.

Just travelling away and being exposed to such greatness can really make you appreciate drama more.

I only wish that everyone at CedarBridge could have accompanied me to something so great.
