Man jailed for hitting ex-girlfriend
sent him to prison for four months after he admitted punching his ex-girlfriend three times and breaking a glass in her face.
The 26-year-old from Warwick, who is also a chef at Chit Chat restaurant, pleaded guilty to the offences before Magistrate Cheryl Ann Mapp.
Sgt. Phil Taylor told the court that on July 15 Sabrina Warren was a patron at Swinging Doors nightclub when Paynter approached her and punched her in the face and struck her with a glass from the bar.
As a result Paynter suffered cuts to her face and a bruised nose. She reported the incident to Police on July 16 and was detained in hospital for observation.
Duty counsel Kim Wilson said Paynter was a father of three who also did security work at the nightclub.
Mrs. Mapp, noting his three previous convictions for violence, and his "disproportionate'' action in this instance, sent him to prison for four months.
