*** The town of St. George's relationship with Lyme Regis in England was put to the test last Sunday with a telephone dart match.
A team from Lyme Regis met and competed with a team from St. George's through a telephone connection partially funded by Cable and Wireless.
It is thought to be the first such long distance dart match held. By a narrow score, the Lyme Regis team defeated the St. George's team three games to one.
"The dart match continues our strong historic link to Lyme Regis,'' deputy mayor Lois Perinchief said.
The dart match is now envisioned to be an annual event. The towns of St.
George's and Lyme Regis were twinned earlier this year.
