having another go at making the former Beergarden restaurant site at the Washington Mall into a success.

Victor Alleyne and Sylvester Hill have taken the site off former Beergarden owners Jose Camacho and Anthony White, who had closed down the restaurant in October.

Mr. Alleyne and Mr. Hill plan to open up the Spring Garden this month featuring a West Indian flavour. The two are from Barbados and named the restaurant after an area on the Island.

"There is a demand for West Indian cuisine in Bermuda,'' Mr. Hill said.

The Beergarden had been in operation for 10 years before going out of business. The previous owners had bought it from Stanley Mocklow in December 1995. He in turn had purchased it only a year previously from Geza Wolf.
