Tokio Millennium donates to BFIS

Tokio Millennium has given a third donation of $10,000 to support BFIS, the Bermuda Foundation For Insurance Studies.It is the third donation to BFIS from the global reinsurer.BFIS Chairman, Michael Fisher thanked Tatsuhiko Hoshina, president and CEO of the global reinsurer, saying “The continuing support from our donors is very important to BFIS as itunderscores that insurance companies based in Bermuda understand the importance of whatBFIS does.“Donations help us to maintain the level of our scholarship awards, as well as supporting our career guidance, internship, mentor networking and job search programmes.”Mr. Hoshina responded: “The Donations Committee at Tokio Millennium Re is committed tosupporting programmes in Bermuda focused on youth and education and we believe that BFISoffers great opportunities to young Bermudians wishing to continue their education.“In additionto providing scholarship funds, a number of our staff also act as mentors to BFIS UniversityScholars.“Tokio Millennium Re also hosted the 2013 summer interns for an educational and insightful afternoon in May and is always delighted to welcome former graduates of thescholarship programmes and internships, either as summer students or as full time employeespost-graduation.”
