Snorkel Park, the home of foam

Play's the thing: Revellers emerged from the dance floor looking like eerie snowmen.

Snorkel Park resembled more of an amusement park on Saturday as partygoers took to waterslides and water guns with abandon.

Hundreds of revellers attended 'Come Play', with some enjoying the foam party so much they emerged from the dance floor looking like eerie snowmen under the haze of the smoke machine.

If you were dry heading into the party, it didn't take long to get wet due to the super soaker-wielding bar staff and a giant inflatable waterslide.

The emphasis of the evening was on fun, and with beach volleyball and a blue foam pit, a happy relaxed vibe ensued.

DJs OB1, Aztec, Y.G.S. Sound, Blackstar and Awesome packed the dance floor with an eclectic mix of tunes ranging from hip-hop, r 'n' b, rock and pop, to soca and reggae.

As for the bar service, things could not have been more different than last month's Pink Party. Attending that event, I was among those who faced waits of up to 45 minutes for a drink. On Saturday however, the Snorkel Park bar staff and Swallows Ladies Hockey Club provided an immediate service, making getting that drink just a little too easy.

As for the tickets, the set up was also vastly improved on the Pink Party, with a universal price of $5 a drink. A beer bar, vodka bar and cocktail bar offered something for everyone, with head bartender Mr. Tequila even providing blueberry jello shots for those wanting something a little different.

Belcario Thomas, organiser of 'Come Play' says: "The evening was good fun and incident-free, and I'm glad so many people came to support us as we try and raise the bar for entertainment in Bermuda. People definitely 'came to play', with the giant waterslide in use all night, a full dance floor and people dancing in the blue foam pit."

Mr. Thomas is now organising the Unite Full Moon party for September 13. It will feature neon dancers, an Emerald Foam Pit, more waterslides, plus house and dance DJs, and the intriguing-sounding 'Moon the Moon' midnight challenge. Tickets go on sale next week at Music World, Cellular One and the venue itself, Snorkel Park.
