Dickinson.

PLP MP Mr. Reginald Burrows , who endorsed remarks made about the football team, praised the producers and performers of the "Ain't Misbehavin'' production at City Hall last week.

Tourism Minister the Hon. C.V. (Jim) Woolridge asked the House to wish the sailors in the 38th biennial Newport/Bermuda Yacht Race well.

"This (race) injects a tremendous amount of money into the economy,'' Mr.

Woolridge said. "It also gives us worldwide recognition.'' Opposition Leader Mr. Frederick Wade asked that the House congratulate Mr.

Roosevelt Brown for co-ordinating non-governmental organisations that participated in the Global Forum '92 held in Brazil at the same time as the Earth Summit.

"He was able to put (Independent) Mr. (Stuart) Hayward to work to chair a coordinating committee which would set the agenda for the debt treaty.

He also asked that congratulations be sent to Prospect Primary deputy principal Mrs. Dorothy Trott for organising Showcase '92, a variety show of current and former students of the school's talents.

Mr. Roberts said it was evident that parents were fully behind the school and he praised Prospect's principal Mrs. Marva Outerbridge, teachers, and students involved in the show on June 7.

On a sad note, UBP MP the Hon. Ann Cartwright DeCouto asked the House to send its condolences to the family of the late Mrs. Hilda Canton "who was well known about the courts'' and worked for Appleby, Spurling & Kempe when the Minister was an office girl.

Opposition MP Mr. Ottiwell Simmons asked that condolences be sent to the family of the late Mr. Simon Warner of Bailey's Bay.

Mr. Simmons said Mr. Warner, who was a well-known Bank of N.T. Butterfield employee, was one of the most outstanding church singers in Bermuda and "perhaps one of the most friendly people one could find''.

UBP MP the Hon. Haskins Davis associated himself with Mr. Simmons' remarks.

"I considered him (Mr. Warner) a great friend,'' Mr. Davis said, adding that it was only a few months ago that he attended Mr. Warner's retirement party.

Opposition MP Mr. Stanley Lowe echoed his remarks. He also asked the House to congratulate those who participated in the Queen's Birthday parade.

UBP MP the Hon. Sir John Sharpe also extended praise to participants in the parade, particularly the Bermuda Regiment whose performances, he said, Bermuda tends to take for granted.
