Shooting probe focuses on teen
A 14-year-old Pembroke boy is being investigated by Police for allegedly shooting a female student with a pellet gun at CedarBridge Academy. However, the Education Department said the female student only noticed her wound the following day.
?She was barely injured. She just recalled feeling a zip and figured she had been hit,? a spokesman for the department said yesterday. ?The student was not injured ? she didn?t even notice that she may have been hit until the next day when she reported it.?
Police also released more information about the incident that took place at CedarBridge on Thursday, saying an investigation into an incident was ongoing.
?A 14-year-old Pembroke boy is assisting Police with their inquires into the matter,? Police said.
But the Police spokesman would not say if anyone had been charged in relation to the incident and did not believe that the student was in custody.
When the Education spokesman was asked whether the 14-year-old was the same person who allegedly shot a female student on Thursday, he said: ?We cannot comment on the Police investigation ? that?s within their purview. I have no idea who they have assisting them with their queries.?
