A Florida man accidentally left hundreds of dollars in cash blowing down Front Street -- only to have the money gathered up and returned to him.

"I'm from Miami,'' said Mr. Paul Zuccarini, who is visiting Bermuda on business. "That would never happen in Miami.'' On Thursday evening, Mr. Zuccarini, 32, dropped his wallet while riding his livery cycle between a Hamilton pharmacy and his Spanish Point guest house.

But two local hairstylists teamed up to save the day for Mr. Zuccarini.

"I was just looking out the window when I saw all this money flying around,'' said Miss Caroline Jones, a hairstylist at the Bosun's Chair on Front Street.

"That's what got my attention -- all these $50 bills.'' She then spotted the wallet, which was full of credit cards, and went outside to start gathering up the cash.

At that moment, another English hairstylist -- this one from nearby Strands -- was riding his pedal cycle along Front Street when he saw "money was flying all over the place.'' Mr. Jonathon Stanton helped Miss Jones gather up more than $200, then took it and the wallet to the Police station in Hamilton.

"I got everything back,'' said Mr. Zuccarini, who gave Mr. Stanton a small reward. "I've been noticing Bermuda is having some problems with guns, but everything is relative,'' he said. "This is a nice place.'' Mr. Stanton said that Mr. Zuccarini was "really happy'' to get his money and wallet back. "I wouldn't say it was a state of shock -- more like a state of bewilderment,'' he said.
