Bermuda-registered firms surge in
the Hong Kong stock exchange in 1993.
Hong Kong's newspaper The South China Morning Post published the top 10 list with a story reporting that cash raised by listings had trebled to 27 billion Hong Kong dollars.
Four of the top ten companies were incorporated by Appleby, Spurling & Kempe and one by Conyers, Dill & Pearman.
Appleby, Spurling and Kempe incorporated Consolidated Electric Power Asia, the top listed company, which started with an issue price of $12.50 and raised an incredible $5.9 billion.
Other AS&K companies were fourth-placed Paliburg Development, sixth-placed Dao Hang Bank and eighth-placed Shangri-La Asia. The Conyers, Dill and Pearman company was 10th, Yaohan International.
The report states that the stock exchange easily broke 1992's record performance, with 64 company listings which raised $27 billion in capital against 56 which raised $9 billion in 1992.
