Tuff Dogs 2 Robin Hood 1Tuff Dogs became the first team to complete a league and cup double after defeating Robin Hood in the Bistro Cup final at BAA Field on Saturday.Dogs, who won the Corona League at a canter, went behind midway through the first half when ex-Bermuda Hogges striker Lloyd Holder fired home from close range.Holder, formerly of PHC Zebras, had the ball in the net a second time shortly after the break but his effort was ruled offside.Dogs, who began to dominate their opponents, were reduced to ten men when Robert Marquez was dismissed for a reckless challenge. But, despite their numerical disadvantage, they continued to look the more dangerous of the two sides and drew level when national team cricketer Kevin Hurdle struck from just inside the box.Dogs then found the winner through Lamual Crofton who punished Hood for some indecisive defending.Hurdles believed Dogs’ double was just reward for the team’s hard work this season.“We went down to ten men but kept on going and I think that’s a testament to our character. The players have worked really hard this season it’s really paid off for us. We’re the first team to do the double in the Corona League and that feels good,” said the ex-Dandy Town man.
