More bus routes cancelled

The Government called off 38 bus routes this afternoon.

The string of cancellations began with the No. 4 service from Hamilton to Spanish Point at 4pm, to the No. 1 bus from Grotto Bay to Hamilton at 6.40pm.

Cancellations doubled on January 13 with the return of public schoolchildren to the classroom, after the Ministry of Transport and the Bermuda Minibus Association were unable to reach a deal on supplemental bus runs.

Lawrence Scott, the transport minister, said that public buses would prioritise the morning and afternoon school routes for students.
