Sports stars lined up for tournament

the 1995 Corporate Charity Golf Classic to be held at Port Royal Golf Course this Thursday and Friday to benefit The Children's Medical and Research Foundation.

Already lined up as star attractions are former outdoor mile world record holder and current indoor record holder Eamonn Coghlan of Ireland, former rugby internationals Fergus Slattery and Mick Quinn, equestrian show-jumper Eddie Macken and tennis' Cliff Drysdale and two-time Wimbledon finalist Kevin Curren.

"They're coming down to support us and give an international flavour to the event,'' explained tournament co-ordinator David Grisley.

Grisley added that a target of $100,000 has been set for the four-year-old event, with the local neo-natal unit also due to receive a cash bonus as a result.

Last year witnessed a total of $130,000 collected to benefit children throughout the world.

There are also some very enticing prizes, the grandest being a BMW 850i to anyone who achieves a hole-in-one at the picturesque 16th hole. Others prizes include gold Rolex watches and a Caribbean cruise.
