2010 Census starts on Thursday
Bermuda's Census starts on Thursday over the next three months interviewers will go from door-to-door to count every resident on the Island.
The count takes place every ten years and is in keeping with a global initiative encouraged by the United Nations Statistics Division.
Department of Statistics director Valerie Robinson-James encouraged residents' full cooperation and participation.
"On Thursday evening, our first group of houses will be counted, and we want to encourage the public's full participation," she said.
"The Census interviewer's job is a very important one. They have the responsibility of taking inventory of Bermuda's housing stock, its population and their characteristics, so it's critical that we have the public's support over the next three months during this national undertaking."
Interviews will take up to 45 minutes, with questions ranging from employment to child care.
Members of the public are encouraged to ensure that their pets are properly secured.
