Former United Bermuda Party MP Jamahl Simmons has been named as the Premier’s new press secretary.

Mr. Simmons, who stepped down in December as Ewart Brown’s executive aide, replaces Arnold Minors.

Dr. Brown told a lunchtime press conference that Mr. Simmons was familiar with Cabinet and had political experience which made him right for the job.

Mr. Simmons said the appointment was a vote of confidence in him and his abilities and that he was grateful for the opportunity.
