Langhorne Slim to perform at Robin Hood
Langhorne Slim will give music lovers a taste of what is to come at BIFF's Wrap Party when he plays an unplugged set at the Robin Hood tonight.
He and his band, The War Eagles, are the headliners at Saturday's Wrap. Bermuda reggae artist/comedian Uzimon will open Saturday's show.
Tonight, however, Bermudian singer-songwriter Gavin Smith will kick things off at 9.30 p.m. He and Stan Seymour (Lord Necktie) are profiled in the BIFF film, 'Old School/New School'. Langhorne is expected to hit the stage at 10.30 p.m.
"This is how he started - for the first four or five years that I saw him play live, he was a solo act," said BIFF party organiser Jon Legere of Volcanic Productions. "This is going to be a special night."
* BIFF has also added a second screening of the documentary film, 'Africa Unite'. The film will be shown on Saturday April 5 at 3.45 p.m. in the Tradewinds Auditorium at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute. Concert tribute, Marley family travelogue, and humanitarian documentary, Africa Unite ignites the screen with the spirit of reggae icon Bob Marley in its every frame. In commemoration of Marley's 60th birthday, the film is centred on the Marley family's first-ever trip to Ethiopia in 2005.
