The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 27.98 points or 1.07 percent yesterday to close at 2,649.26. A total of 3,901 shares worth $146,394 were traded.

The only two stocks to be traded for the day were the Bank of Bermuda, which gained 25 cents or 0.6 percent to close at $44.25 and the Bank of Butterfield, which gained 90 cents or 2.8 percent to close at $32.90.
