Heavy rains result in floods of calls for Island's firefighters
Heavy rains had the Bermuda Fire Service busy responding to floodings yesterday.
Just before 10 a.m., firefighters were called to a flooding at Honda Ltd. on Front Street. And nine minutes later, they were called to another at Woodlands Playhouse Nursery on Woodlands Road. At 10.28 a.m., they removed a carpet after part of a house was flooded in Hillsdale Estates off Hermitage Road.
And at 10.31 a.m., they responded to a flooding at Devil's Hole Aquarium.
Water pumps were next needed at an office building at Dundonald and Parliament streets at 12.46 p.m., a spokesman said. The final call of the day was at 5.16 p.m., to Nu-Castle Lane off Collector's Hill.
None of the floodings was reported as serious. Most involved between one and four inches of water.
