Police will announce the new Police Commissioner at a Press conference at Government House on Monday. Governor Sir John Vereker will also announce appointments to other top ranks.

It is thought that of the five candidates who applied only Deputy Commissioner George Jackson and Superintendent Roseanda Jones are still in contention after the interview panel was deadlocked. The two recently flew to the National Police Leadership Centre in Bramshill, England for a tie-breaking assessment.

Current Commissioner Jonathan Smith is retiring after five years in the post.
