Magistrates' Court yesterday.

The man, who cannot be named under reporting restrictions which came into effect last month, is charged with breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony and sexually assaulting the woman.

Crown Counsel Mr. Diarmuid Doorly applied for "a substantial package of bail conditions'', including the surrender of travel documents, as he understood the defendant had planned to return to his home in England with his wife.

Defence lawyer Mr. Delroy Duncan told the court there was no strong evidence suggesting his client planned to leave Bermuda.

The man's wife will maintain her job with a local company and stand as surety for her husband's bail, Mr. Duncan said.

Acting Senior Magistrate the Wor. John Judge set bail at $10,000 with one surety. He told the man to surrender his passport and his driver's licence, and to report daily to the Hamilton Police station.
