and beach area in Sandys.

The Board received the application made by Mr. Dennis Correia on January 13 this year to build on Sally Port on Freeport Road.

He wants to create a new beach and snorkel area adjacent to the high walls of the Maritime Museum.

And he also proposes to have a rental hut, changing rooms, picnic table, benches and toilets.

The Board said: "As the applicant is unsure of the popularity and feasibility of this proposal, the two buildings will be wooden constructions and the toilets are proposed to be portable.

"The West End Development Corporation has confirmed that they have entered into agreement with the applicant for the development of land.

"They do not object to the proposal but considered that in view of the temporary nature of the buildings and toilet facilities a temporary consent would be most appropriate.'' "In the interests of visual amenity, the entire site subject to this application shall be landscaped within three months of the issuance of a Certificate of Use and Occupancy Permit unless the prior express permission of the Board has been obtained for an extension.'' And the Board added that before the commencement of building operations for the approved dock, Mr. Correia shall enter into an agreement with the Minister of Works and Engineering regarding the area of foreshore encroachment going beyond the designated shoreline.

He shall also obtain, from the Minister of Environment the requisite foreshore licence in accordance with the Department of Works and Engineering Act, 1984 and Foreshore Licences Act, 1945.
