President raises BIU's concern over Island's anti-social behaviour
The social highlight of Bermuda's long Labour Day weekend was, as is the tradition, the Bermuda Industrial Union's banquet. The 29th annual banquet was held at Fairmont Southampton, highlighted by union president Chris Furbert's address, in which he voiced the BIU's concern about the anti-social behaviour currently gripping the Island.
Mr. Furbert also made a presentation to Dr. Ewart Brown on the occasion of his attending his last banquet as Premier.
And he had special praise for the unrelenting efforts of Bro. Louis Somner, organiser of the Construction Division in his quest to ensure that all Bermudians who want to work are able to find work.
Guest speaker at the banquet was David Bascome, MBE, Commissioner and owner of the ISL and Founder of Hope4 Life.
