Rain thwarts title chasers

Promoted to number three in the order, Hollis responded by smashing 70 as St.
David's chased a declaration target. After Shea Pitcher departed for 16, Hollis and Chris Foggo (36) added 90 for the second wicket to post the 100.
Graham Fox finished with 37 not out and Shannon Raynor 15 not out.
Braxton Stowe's two wickets proved costly as he finished with two for 73 from 16 overs.
Among the PHC batsmen, Kallan Johnston and Millard Rawlins were top scorers with 19 apiece after Kevin Dill (15) and Kenny Mills (16) put on 31 for the first wicket. However, they were quickly 34-4 with Hollis taking the first four wickets, including three in one over.
Somerset 196-9 Warwick 77-5 Veteran Winston Reid smashed 84 to lead Somerset's recovery from 11-2 as their match at home ended in a draw.
Reid put on 120 for the third wicket with Shannon Warner (38) while Wendell White added 34. But a draw was always on the cards after Somerset declared at 5.55 p.m.
Reginald Pitcher and Daniel Caines were the top Warwick bowlers, Pitcher taking three for 33 from 10 overs and Caines three for 36 from 13.1 overs.
Kevin Tucker took two for 28 off nine overs.
Warwick lost five wickets in their 90 minutes of batting as Perry Scott stroked 32 and Caines 28 to hold the innings together. No other Warwick batsman reached double figures. Craig Brangman claimed two for 13 from four overs.
