A woman was yesterday jailed on charges that she attempted to provoke an assault on a Supreme Court judge.Carolyn Drover, 43, was accused in Magistrates’ Court of posting an inflammatory comment on this newspaper’s website on January 25, calling for Puisne Judge Carlisle Greaves to be assaulted.Ms Drover denied a charge of soliciting, inciting or attempting to procure the assault on Mr Justice Greaves for an act executed under his duty by law.She also denied attempting to procure another person to unlawfully assault him.She is alleged to have posted his home address online.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner refused to offer her bail, citing the seriousness of the offence.He remanded Ms Drover, of Clay Court in Hamilton Parish, until an April 10 court mention.Defence lawyer Charles Richardson argued that the daily newspaper ought to be in court for the matter, but Mr Warner responded that The Royal Gazette had not been charged.“Anyone who threatens a Supreme Court judge in this jurisdiction should not be allowed to walk around freely,” he added.
