Ailing Pierce feels the heat

After limping off towards the end of the New York Giants? overtime win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Bermudian Antonio Pierce then had to be carted off the team bus, feeling dizzy an hour after the game.

He was one of a number of players treated for dehydration following the four-hour 30-26 victory in Philadelphia, but it was the leg injury that could be problematic.

Pierce, the $33 million former Washington Redskin, is now listed as only ?probable? for next week?s trip to Seattle after being helped off deep in overtime on Sunday and missing the final four-down defensive series of the game.

And although he was happy with the dramatic comeback victory, he was disappointed with the 451 yards conceded by the defence of which he is the leader.

?We?re not a disciplined team right now,? he said.

?If we don?t correct some things, we are not going to be a successful team.

?We just don?t do the little things. We want to be a top 10 defence, but if we?re going to do that, we?ve got to stop all the bull. We have to be a dominating defence.?
