Dennis Bell, 34, from Warwick, was pinned under a 2,000 pound bucket of concrete at the site of the CedarBridge Academy more than two years ago.

The Health and Safety Office later charged the Gringley Construction Company Ltd. and supervisor Michael Picard with failing to provide and maintain safe working conditions and equipment.

But after numerous adjournments due to unavailable witnesses or unprepared counsel, the matter has yet to come to trial.

And in Magistrates' Court yesterday, Mr. Bell's supporters -- who took time off from work to attend court -- were once again turned away without explanation after the case was adjourned.

"We can't even keep track of how many times it's been adjourned,'' said Mr.

Bell's mother, Velma Small.

And the family said yesterday the seven or eight court adjournments made it impossible for Mr. Bell to "get on with his life''.

"I would think that after a year everything should be in place to take care of this,'' said wife Maureen.

The case was re-scheduled to begin today.
