A Pembroke man was beaten up and robbed in his own home on Thursday evening.

The 47-year-old victim was watching TV at 7.20 p.m. when he heard noises outside the window of his North Court Avenue home.

When he went to investigate he found a man inside the house and another man attempting to gain entry.

One of the suspects grabbed the victim and then opened the door to let two other men in. The four men then demanded money from the man and beat him about the head and body before escaping.

One of the suspects took a pair of sunglasses belonging to the victim. The man sustained cuts and bruises to his arms and hands and swelling to his face.

He was treatment at hospital and later released. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
