Successfully defending his senior criterion title was Stevens, who sped away from Mike Lee on the final lap. This after the latter had himself produced a surge to outdistance from the pack early on before being caught by Stevens.

Third place also produced a close finish with Kevin Topple overpowering Dwyer Williams at the end in another sprint finish.

Meanwhile, Henry used superior tactics over his rivals in the sprint championship.

Defending champion Sinclair Packwood and Whayman Butterfield both had runs at Henry, closing the gap somewhat, but were unable to overcome the early deficit before the finish line.

In other action, Vic Ball captured the veterans category ahead of Cal Grimes and Keith Seymour.

Among the women, Melanie Claude outduelled Dorann Cumberbatch for first place.

Finally, the juniors section was won by Grant Smith with Trevor and Chris Hedges second and third respectively.
